GOOD THINGS - evernote

It all started with too many cans of Whole Canned Tomatoes.... There are a few recipes I make regularly which include instructions for a tomato sauce, although I usually don't make the sauce (we quite like the bulk marinara we get with our Costco membership), I usually do forget to remove the sauce ingredients when gathering items for the recipe.

Therefore, in search of other recipes I like that also use Whole Canned Tomatoes, I become focused on finding a way to catalog all my online and hard copy recipes.

This is how I found Evernote.

Evernote, similar to Google Notebook, is a bookmarking service which allows you to clip, capture, and note items online, or store photographed and scanned information. In addition, it has a great interface that makes browsing and filing items very easy. This has been a great tool for filing new and old recipes

Notes can be created from scratch, or clipped. I've filed only the image of recipes and their ingredients, so I can search for something specific, such as whole canned tomatoes or zucchini.

Tagging is also very helpful within Evernote, as above where I've tagged items of outdoor inspiration, but they are part of a larger Decor Notebook.

Good Things!

PROJECT - napkins

This weekend, inspired by David Lebovitz's article on French Napkins, I began two napkin projects.

The first, creating a prototype for numbered napkins to add to the InboundThread line.

The second, making napkins more available in our home. With scape fabric, I made several sets of napkins, placed them in a glass bowl, and designated current napkins in use with napkin rings.

We're basically using the same napkins till we feel they really need to be washed. I still have some nice napkins I will only take out for special occasions/guest.
